Heralding as Oklahoma City chapter of Jack and Jill, Inc’s signature fundraising event, the Expo includes a fun-filled afternoon of educational and cultural activities geared toward the entire family. Guest dressed in African garb will take an immersive journey to Wakanda, the home ofBlack Panther. Guests will visit the Wakandan Marketplace where food tastings, African clothing, jewelry and art will be highlighted. Village Circle showcases interactive Martial Arts demonstrations, storytelling, and local performers. To the delight of children and adults alike,Black Panther and his crew will make an appearance for photo- ops and souvenir giveaways.Awards given to essay winners concludes the pre- movie activities and makes way for the main event: Black Panther!
While enjoying the evening and entertainment, OKC chapter ultimately supports positive cinematic projects highlighting actors of color and watering seeds of cultural,civic and social pride in our children. The event has reached over 200,000 individuals on social media, and filled 2 large theaters.
Jack and Jill of America, Inc. is a membership organization of mothers with children ages 2-19,dedicated to nurturing future African-American leaders by strengthening children through leadership development, volunteer service, philanthropic giving and civic duty.
